In the past few years studies have confirmed that most people do not drink enough water to maintain good health. Maintaining the fluid balance in the human body is just as important in winter as it is in summer. Many people focus on what they eat and forget that water – particularly mineral water – is the most essential nutrient for the human body.
Health professionals have urged us all to drink more water, yet many of us fail to understand the importance and benefits of a well hydrated body. By the time we feel thirsty, we are already dehydrated and our brain and body are no longer operating at full capacity. Depleted water levels inside cells ( dehydration) can compromise our energy and immunity. Our body’s 60 trillion living cells need pure water, nutrients and oxygen. The human body needs good water to stay alive and function. The recommended 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day will flush out your digestive system, speed up your metabolism, boost your immunity and minimise your risk to a host of degenerative conditions. It really is that simple. Give the human body what it needs most – pure water, preferably mineral water- and it will function better. Water is more than just a drink. It does an enormous job and only water can do water’s job! Water transports oxygen and nutrients throughout the human body via the bloodstream. Water is needed to remove waste and to send messages to and from the brain. When you consider that the brain is around 90% water, you start to understand how dehydration can easily effect brain function. Are we getting the messages through??? It also stands to reason that the more easily the body can absorb the water, the better the body is able to function. If you are thirsty, your body is telling you that it is already dehydrated! Worse still, if you are never thirsty, your body has shut down the thirst signal and is busy stealing water from other body organs, like your bowel! You wouldn’t drink out of the toilet bowl, why should your body. Give your body what it needs. Drink good water and get on with your life. Winter is approaching, you owe it to yourself to stay well hydrated and help your body to stay healthy.
